Hillary Clinton Jumps the Shark
She's co-sponsoring an anti-flag-burning law. With Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah), one of the nuttier wingnuts in Congress. If this isn't pandering to the right, it must be a symptom of a serious mental collapse. The evidence for "mental collapse" is right here:
In her public statements, she has compared the act of flag-burning to burning a cross, which can be considered a violation of federal civil rights law.If comparing flag burning to cross burning isn't proof that she's one of those People Unclear on the Concept, I don't know what it is. Burning a cross isn't merely offensive. It isn't merely a statement of belief. It's a direct threat of violence. Racists burn crosses in order to send the message, "We have power over you. You're not safe in your own home. Next we'll lynch you." It's intended to make the targets constantly fearful for their own safety. So, Hillary, where's the direct threat of violence in burning the flag? Claiming that flag burning is the same as cross burning is like claiming that saying "F*** you" is the same as threatening to commit rape.
No amount of pandering to the right wing is going to get you into the White House. Period. The very people whose votes you want are the last ones in the world who will vote for you, simply because you're missing a Y chromosome.
Please, stay in the Senate. We have too few resources to be squandering them on a doomed Presidential campaign like yours.
(but you were already, after the failure to support the Ohio challenge and your support for the Iraq War and the MBNA Debt Slavery Act).
The one thing I am absolutely positive of is that James Carville, Paul Begala, or the other people who helped the Big Dog win the Big Prize are *not* advising Senator Mrs. Bill.
They'll never vote for her because a)they think she's a lesbian; b)they do so despise the word Clinton; and c)some of them believe she's a vampire. Although they're better prepared to accept her vamire-ness than her ostensible lesbian-ness.
