Requiem to a journalist
Meet the new Russia, same as the old Soviet Union. Except that in the old USSR, there was at least lip service paid to helping the proletariat. The new one is all about helping Putin and his inner circle, and to hell with everyone else.
This is what Politkovskaya said:
Politkovskaya chillingly predicted yesterday's events: 'Some time ago Vladislav Surkov, deputy head of the presidential administration, explained that there were people who were enemies but whom you could talk sense into, and there were incorrigible enemies to whom you couldn't and who simply needed to be "cleansed" from the political arena. So they are trying to cleanse it of me and others like me.'
Bush looked into Putin's eyes and saw what? Hell?
