What Joe Lieberman's Word Is Worth

Joe Lieberman answers the question of whether he'd consider joining the Senate Republican caucus. In the final hours of the campaign:

"It is a totally closed issue. I know this is a great sport ... but I pride myself on keeping my word. And I have said explicitly that I will, if I am re-elected, I will organize with the Democrats."
November 8:
"The answer is no. When I give my word I stick with it, and I am definitely going to organize with the Senate Democrats."
November 12:
"I'm not ruling it out, but I hope I don't get to that point."
What happened between November 8 and 12, Joe? Harry Reid didn't call you soon enough to offer you your choice of committee chairs?
Comments:
We warned Hil and Bill that this would happen.

Phoenix Woman,

I liked what you said, "Harry Reid didn't call you soon enough to offer you your choice of committee chairs?" LOL

As a wakeup call to Lieberman, perhaps the DNC could offer a disaffected GOP Senator, if they jump ship, a Chairmanship, rubbing Lieberman's nose in it.

Constant, I can't think of any GOP senator who's "moderate" enough to consider joining the Democratic Party.
