Two international stories: Mexican president Fox fires AG in attempt to deflect blame for causing impeachment of popular Mexico mayor Fighting intensifies in Haiti as UN used to suppress people trying to restore a legally-elected government We're very accustomed to ignoring Haiti, but I think this is a major story. Latin America and the Caribbean are in revolt, and the flames are getting higher.

Yes, indeed. The Bushistas tried to mess with two different Latin American countries. They succeeded in overthrowing Aristide, partly because he was inept, but mostly because the local fascist oligarchs were ruthlessly efficient at killing and terrorizing people. But it backfired in Venezuela, as the common people adore Hugo Chavez, and with good reason.
