Past investigators had uncovered thefts of millions in stolen property and wildly ambitious personal uses of the credit card-- at what is supposed to be one of the most secure facilities in the nation. The investigators, not the thieves, were fired.
To be scrupulously fair to W, the past abuses took place on Bill Clinton's watch. With a Republican Congress obsessed with Wen Ho Lee and with Bush's pals running the defense and security industries.
