Bill Thomas Officially Buries The Attempt To Destroy Social Security

Speaking of Billmon, he rightly states that the Republicans aren't likely to be able to pass these plans or any variation on them, as they don't dare bring up the subject in an election year and they won't have the supermajorities needed to ram it through. (In fact, I'm betting that in 2006 they wind up losing a bunch of seats.) So that's one good thing we can say has happened during this year!

That's good news about S.S. And the White House Press Corps seems to have awoken. And the Rove story has legs. Indeed, we may have reason to hope that the midterm elections will be of help to the reality-based citizenry.
