Cats do not pose, much less are they posed.

They arrange themselves in mystical patterns to exert by magic mind control over human beings.

How else can you explain the fact that a small, bat-faced creature that regularly bathes in saliva has managed to wangle millenia of free room, board, massage, and adulation from hominids rendered helpless by the Cute Spell?
