Novak loses his passport to the DC Cocktail Circuit
Atrios points to this part of the transcript, after the meltdown:
HENRY: Thanks, James Carville. And I'm sorry as well that Bob Novak obviously left the set a little early. I had told him in advance that we were going to ask him about the CIA leak case. He was not here for me to be able to ask him about that. Hopefully we'll be able to ask him about that in the future.
The rule about not saying the seven words on air is basic among the punditocracy, sort of like toilet training. Any adult who fails toilet training in front of half a million people is not getting invited anywhere. And so I predict it will be with Novak.
I tend to think Novak just had a spasm of rage at being talked over and that this has nothing to do with Plame. Any experienced member of the punditocracy, knowing that they are going ro be asked a question, knows to parrot the line. In this case: "Since this is an ongoing investigation, the special counsel has asked me not to discuss the matter."
My guess is that he's just too old to handle the stress of being on-air.
