Treasongate: Fact-Checking Bob Nofacts
Bob Novak has tried to escape blame for outing a CIA agent by insisting that "she could be identified as "Valerie Plame" by reading her husband's entry in 'Who's Who in America'." Since most of us don't keep a copy of Who's Who within reach, here's the relevant excerpt, provided by a member of Salon's Table Talk community:
I have the M-Z Volume of Who's Who in America for 2005 in front of me.Let me emphasis that point: "Joseph Wilson's wife" could indeed be identified, from his entry in Who's Who, as Valerie Plame [Wilson]. She could not, however, be identified as a CIA operative. For that, you need treasonous White House officials and newspaper columnists.Wilson, Joseph Charles, IV, former ambassador; b. Not one word about what his wife does for a living. Nor is there an entry for Wilson, Valerie Plame, or Plame, Valerie.
