Buh-Bye, Randy, You DINO
Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya! How badly did Randy get his ass kicked last night? He conceded thirty minutes after the polls closed. Here's what you need to understand about this: Randy Kelly is a very good friend of former mayor and current Senator Norm (Traitor) Coleman, who switched from Democrat to Republican while still mayor. We know it's only a matter of time before Kelly does the same thing. (That is, if Bush doesn't appoint him to a Cabinet position somewhere.) Norm the Traitor, on orders from Rove, no doubt, asked Kelly to try to give John Kerry a surprise black eye in what should have been a stronghold for Kerry, the City of St. Paul. This move surprised and infuriated a lot of Democrats, including some folks on Kelly's staff, at least one of whom quit and went to work for Amy Klobuchar. Kelly outraised and outspent Chris Coleman (the good Coleman, and the son of famous state senator Nick Coleman, not to be confused with Traitor Norm) by something like three to one, but he was doomed from the moment he backed Bush. (There was even an effort to get him recalled!) The DFL could have run a ham sandwich against Kelly and beat him like a gong. "Republican Randy" signs, courtesy of RecallRandy.org, were everywhere, along with Chris Coleman's own signs. We're talking about a town where every single precinct went strongly for Kerry last year. If Randy-kins was running for statewide office and trying to woo the white-flighters in the suburban mega-church belt, endorsing Bush might have made sense. But he was running for re-election in St. Paul, dammit! In short, he's an arrogant moron who thought he had the mayor's job by divine right and the cash donations of his Republican friends. He thought wrong.
