Randy "Top Gun" Cunningham is reportedly gay

Thanks to a tip from KTLK talk show host Johnny Wendell, we learn from the Washington Blade that Randy "Duke" Cunningham (15 Air Medals, the Navy Cross, two Silver Stars, Medal of Honor, Purple Heart) is apparently gay. Cunningham, who is married with grown children, has admitted to romantic, loving relationships with men, both during his Vietnam military service and as a civilian. That was the remarkable story that this publication reported two years ago, when Elizabeth Birch, the former Human Rights Campaign leader, inadvertently outed Cunningham at a gay rights forum. The evidence the article presents is circumstantial, and The Duke is probably too busy with other court engagements to challenge it if it were false, but it fits. The people who scream the loudest about how gays will bring down the wrath of God tend to be closet cases. If (and I don't regard it as proven beyond doubt) the man who was the Navy's Top Gun is gay, what is all the fuss over gays serving in the military? [PW butts in: Beat me to it, Charles! Meanwhile, let's look at the widely disparate treatment of gay Democrats and gay Republicans. Isn't it interesting that Jim McGreevey gets forced out of office for putting his boyfriend on the payroll, yet David Dreier gets to keep both his Congressional seat and his taxpayer-subsidized lover?]

Comments:
Your point, of course, is not that he's gay but that he's a hypocrite.

And that the Republican Party is the party of hypocrisy.

Mais oui, Madame!

Also, that just like everything else, It's OK, if you're a Republican.

If you look through the Duke Stir's anti-gay rhetoric, and compare with Mayor Jim West's (R-recently outted Spokane Mayor) anti-gay rants, the similarities are astounding.
