Isn't "puppy in an introspective mood" an oxymoron? I think you just caught him in that brief state between hyperactive and asleep.

Charles, I don't think that will bother my parents. They picked him out when they saw him more than holding his own against a set of Jack Russell terriers. They like spirited dogs with good appetites. (Though they've kept him away from the "people food" so far.)
