Boss Tweed Steps Down, Boss Tweed, Jr. Steps Up

AP is reporting that Tom DeLay is planning to step down as Majority Leader. We'll see how long the media's memory about the racketeering he seems to have been involved in is, and in particular how it compares to how they dogged Dan Rostenkowski over what came down to stealing ashtrays. . So, who is stepping up? Roy Blunt, a man probably as crooked as Tom DeLay, but less crude in the shakedown. And loyal Gingrich Lieutenant John Boehner, currently trying to sue Jim McDermott into insolvency over what amounts to McDermott being overzealous in trying to uphold the non-existent honor of the House. The machine lumbers on.
