"And I'm Proud To Be An American, Where We Torture Kids To Death..."

You may not have heard about this, being that the media was fixated on Paris Hilton and Cynthia McKinney, but computer data storage units, such as hard drives and flash drives, are being swiped from US military bases in Afghanistan and sold in nearby open-air markets-- and some of the drives have grisly information and images stored on them:

Some of the data would be valuable to the enemy, including: -- Names and personal information for dozens of DOD interrogators; -- Documents on an “interrogation support cell” and interrogation methods; -- IDs and photos of U.S. troops. With information like this, “You could cripple our U.S. intelligence collection capability in Afghanistan,” says Francona. Among the photos of Americans are pictures of individuals who appear to have been tortured and killed, most too graphic to show. NBC News does not know who caused their injuries. The Pentagon would not comment on the photos.
The Pentagon is damned lucky that the merchants who got the stolen drives didn't simply turn them over to Al-Jazeera. Then instead of NBC News hiding the images of torture and murder from us, they'd be all over the world by now. Wonder if Bartcop knows about this yet?

Comments:
America will reap the whirlwind but it won't have any idea why. Hosea Chapter 8 makes interesting reading. Particularly the verses around 8:7. It's not odd that the fundamentalists don't seem to like Hosea much. I seem to recall Martin L. King jr. used to quote it often.

I despise what has become of the United States under the Bush junta.

I think Arab TV is saturated with the torture photose they already have. Al-jazeera, for all that the 'wingers like to villify them, actually are under very strict constraints, because their own government wants to avoid American wrath and therefore pressures them not to cross certain lines. Not to mention the fact that the American government has executed a number of al-Jazeera reporters at random.

Freelancers have brought out far more damaging stuff than al-Jazeera.It's only the size of their audience that scares Bushco
