Typo or Truth?

I seem to recall a report that the Associated Press cut its costs by firing its copy editors. That may explain this:

With Rove's fate now decided, other unfinished business in Fitzgerald's probe focuses on the source who provided Washington Post reporter Bob Woodwind information about Plame. Woodwind says his source, who he has not publicly identified, provided the information about Wilson's wife, several weeks before Novak learned of Plame's identity. The Post reporter, who never wrote a story, was interviewed by Fitzgerald late last year.
On the other hand, as someone pointed out in Table Talk, "The Bushies did play him like a flute."

Why Is Karl Rove Smiling? Because He Has Stuck It To The Liberals Yet Again!

A month ago a liberal loon website TRUTHOUT.org published a “breaking story” about how Karl Rove was going to be indicted within the week.

Nothing happened but the left and MSNBC hack partisan shows like Hardball Countdown stuck with the story.

Now Karl Rove has been informed that he will NOT be indicted for anything and here is the response from the Truthout tin foil hat people.

"But Truthout.org -- the one publication to report, repeatedly, that Rove was definitely going to be indicted -- isn't buying it. But it's much worse than that, Truthout reported that Rove HAD BEEN indicted and is under indictment RIGHT NOW!

I reached Truthout editor Marc Ash on his cel phone this morning. "I wasn't aware that he had said that," he said of Luskin's announcement, but insisted that Truthout was "absolutely" standing by its earlier reporting.

"We've done a lot of work on this story, we've talked to a lot of people," he said, "and some of the people who provided information for the story are absolutely in a position to know."

The liberals bloggers are frantic now. One poster even said, “At least we have the Scooter Libby trial to look forward to!”.

These people are totally out of control.

Howard Dean, the head of the RNC said this morning, “He doesn't belong in the White House. If the president valued America more than he valued his connection to Karl Rove, Karl Rove would have been fired a long time ago," said Dean, the Democratic Party chairman, speaking Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show. "So I think this is probably good news for the White House, but it's not very good news for America."

AN innocent man is out of legal trouble and all the liberals can do is scream about it. They are saying a “secret deal” was made, that only Republicans get off scott free, that Rove is helping Fitzgerald get Cheney and that it is all a, guess what, “A Karl Rove Plot !”

Now Valerie Plame, the supposed “outed” Cia agent, who was not covert at the time, and her Democrat stooge husband Joe Wilson are saying they will sue Rove in Civil Court.

I know Rove is shaking in his boots on that one.

Let’s have ALL of Joe Wilson’s dirty laundry hang out for the public to see what a hack he is.

I LOVE hearing the libs scream in agony, at election time, where I open the door to hear them wail, and in weeks like this where we kill Zarqawi, The Iraq Government is up and running and Rove is Innocent.

In Matworld the liberals keep putting all their energy into tying to bring down the Bush Administration on scandals, while we run the country.

Nice try Morons!

Next time try taking care of your own house and worry about your own scandals with Minority Leader Sen. Reid taking bribes, Rep. Kennedy, who JUST pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, and Rep. William Jefferson, Democrat from Louisiana, who had $90,000 in MARKED FBI bribe money in his freezer.

While you are at it, remove Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid from power. But then again, don’t. They are way to helpful to my cause and to the destruction of the Democrat party.

Valerie Plame was not an undercover or 'covert' agent. It is impossible to out someone who is not hiding.

Sorry, C. and F., but regardless of what actually happened today (oh, and where's the letter, Gold Bars Luskin? Or was it a phone call?), you can't keep dredging up long-discredited right-wing talking points and expect not to get shot down.

Valerie Plame was indeed a NOC. That is a fact not in dispute. Try again, boys! (Oh, and please explain exactly why Rove made five trips to the grand jury. But you can't.)

Oh, and Rove's not exactly in the clear. If he puts a foot wrong, or if Libby contradicts anything Rove said to the GJ, Rove's definitely in the frying pan no matter who he sold down the river (Cheney? Bush?) to keep out of jail this time.

How rare to have two completely ignorant people post in sequence.

1. Failure to indict is not quite the same as innocent.

2. Although I don't think it's the case, it is possible that Rove is under indictment. Lawyers have been known to lie before, and Luskin is definitely a piece of work.

3. Valerie Plame was in fact a NOC, as the post-and-run artist Fistandantulus doubtless knows (or perhaps, since he is simply in the propaganda distribution business, maybe he doesn't know). As Fitzgerald himself said "Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer. In July 2003, the fact that Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer was classified." So, the claim by Fistantandulus is a simple lie. Not that he cares.

You two are welcome to crow. Just be clear that you are celebrating treason.

"Failure to indict is not quite the same as innocent."

I bet that many of the same people who are crowing over Rove's "vindication" also believe that the failure to indict Bill Clinton just means he managed to bury the evidence too deep to find.

Funny you should mention that, MEC.

I don't remember the right bursting out with apologies when their allegations against Clinton were repeatedly proved false. We were told that Hillary would be indicted, Bettie Currie, Sidney Blumenthal, etc. And, since the prosecutor was a partisan hack, it was all too possible.

Here we have one person who hasn't been indicted... yet... and the right thinks it's the Second Coming.

They talked so big in the Clinton years, but lacked the simple decency to apologize when dozens of allegations proved false, and only the charge of failing to confess to consensual sex proved accurate. Why would we expect them to have the simple decency to acknowledge that Valerie Plame was a covert agent, that someone in the Administration blew her cover and probably got people killed, and that someone should pay for that treason?

I'm sorry if you find me to be a 'post and run' commenter. I find myself too busy with my family and career to spend obviously as much time in the blog-verse as you do.

As towards the whole NOC issue, I'll do some research and see what I can turn up on it.

When a stranger posts something disparaging and then vanishes, it has the same effect as if someone you didn't know rang your doorbell, when you answered the door yelled, "You're a dweeb!", and ran away.

What would your neighbors think of you if you did that?

People who are interested in exchanging ideas rather than yelling insults don't use excuses about being busy. If they're too busy to answer a post, they're too busy to make one.
