Exploding Yet Another Right-Wing Myth About Canadian Health Care

If you've lived in the US for any length of time during the past three decades, you've heard somebody repeat, at least once, the idea that "Canadians have to wait much longer than Americans to get health care!" Um, no. In fact, they generally have less of a wait than Americans do.

Comments:
In emergent situations, Canadians have no wait at all.

Routine diagnostics sometimes take a few months, but many people can cite similer concerns here in the U.S. That is, many people who have health insurance.

Those who don't either wait forever or go to the E.D., often after their problems have become complex and much more expensive to treat.

Personally I am a big fan of the Canadian system.
