Yes, But—

I agree with this New York Times editorial:

Perhaps the entertainment industry will come up with a few lasting lessons from the outcry over ABC’s "dramatization" of the events leading up to the terrorist attacks on 9/11. One suggestion: when attempting to recreate real events on screen, you do not show real people doing things they never did.
I also marvel at the hypocrisy. If the New York Times understands that the truth matters and it's damaging to portray people as doing things they never did, then why did they publish all those lies by Jeff "Whitewater and Wen Ho Lee" Gerth, Kit "Gore Is a Liar" Seelye, and Judith "Iraq's WMD" Miller?
