Vote Fraud And The GOP'S GOTV
As anyone who's read this blog over the years has noted, I'm largely an agnostic on electronic vote fraud, mainly on the Occam's Razor principle: Why go to such efforts when it's a lot easier to make sure that Democratic precincts don't get enough voting machines? But if anyone wants to monitor for evidence of voting fraud, electronic or otherwise, bear in mind that Karl Rove's claims for the prowess of GOP GOTV simply don't hold water. Rove could well be touting the GOP's allegedly superior GOTV as a mask for heavy vote shenanigans. Mark Mellman explains here that GOTV, in a non-corrupt election, simply isn't enough to beat back the sort of electoral tsunami that every pollster worth his or her databases is predicting. The only thing that comes to mind this late in the game, short of Nancy Pelosi being caught on film sacrificing babies on the House floor, would be heavy-duty vote suppression/vote fraud targeted against Democrats.
But in the dozens, if not hundreds, of stories I have read, I do not remember seeing even one documented case where a voter attempted to vote Republican and had the vote hop to the Democrat.
For me, this places it in the category of "Be open-minded, but not so open-minded you let your brains fall out."
When Bev Harris was interviewed on TV today about "black box voting", the illustration showed a Republican vote being flipped to Democrat. What liberal media?
It didn't happen. If the machines didn't do it, then whoever announced the results was simply lying about what the machines said. One way or another, they cheated. They just made sure we couldn't prove it.
