The stupid, lying and venal part of the blogosphere is busy cribbing from a Washington Times and Matt Drudge bullcrap festival involving American Samoa and the minimum wage. The truth is found here. UPDATE: Sounds like the GOP's little stunt has backfired big-time. Ooooops!
They care soooo much about American Samoa. It's touching, really.
ReplyDeleteI laugh now, but those American Samoa votes will really turn the tide for the Republicans next year...
I was watching C-SPAN Friday evening, and heard the delegate from American Samoa bitch-slap the Republicans for lying about the situation and about his own actions. Not that this will be reported by the snooze media.
ReplyDeleteYup, and Barney Frank, as noted in the link, got his own licks in but good. :-)
ReplyDelete"Sounds like the GOP's little stunt has backfired big-time. Ooooops!"
ReplyDeleteIt will only have backfired if the snooze media pay as much attention to George Miller's press release as to the GOP phony concern for American Samoa.
Well, The Hill has been smacking the GOP around over this, so that's a good sign. Still, it wouldn't hurt to forward that Hill piece to our local papers.
ReplyDeleteMy prediction is that these Republican stunts will always backfire. It's their way of screaming for help, like a weak and failed suicidal attempt from a troubled and uninsightful teenager.
ReplyDeleteUpon rudimentary inspection these things will consistently expose Republican faults. It's part of them. If they didn't have these psychological inadequacies to begin with, they wouldn't become Rebulicans.
They'd deal with their own problems rather than project them out onto others.
"Upon rudimentary inspection these things will consistently expose Republican faults."
ReplyDeleteProjection; it isn't just for movie theatres.
And basically, if we flip over any rock, anywhere, Republican offenses will scuttle out from under it. That's because there are so many Republican offenses. They're like cockroaches. (And they'll be as difficult to eradicate as cockroaches.)
