The Antidote to "Son of Bankruptcy Bill"...
... is called the Miller-Watt-Frank bill, and it's right here. You remember the B-Bill, right? And the GOP's Ney-Kanjorski bill, the new screw-the-little-people-on-MBNA's-behalf bill? Well, brand-new Kos diarist Representative Brad Miller, D-NC, has a bill designed to counter the new B-Bill. It's co-signed by 37 other House Democrats and is one heckuva fine piece of legislation. Remember, the original B-Bill's fast-track got slowed considerably when a bipartisan team of bloggers worked together to try and stop it. They didn't succeed then, but we've got much more lead time now -- and we've also got an alternate bill, Rep. Miller's bill, to rally around. At the very least, we can use Miller's bill to shine a spotlight on the Ney-Kanjorski abomination, which is the LAST thing that Rep. Ney wants: He's hoping to get this thing rammed through with no discussion and without any of the general public knowing about it. Go forth and spread the word now!
