It is an embarrassment to the United States. It should be an embarrassment to both the Republican Party and to Ohio. And yet they plunge on.
Let's roll the tape.
1. Reflecting Iraqi desires, decorated Marine veteran says we should withdraw from Iraq.
2. Newly-elected congressman, already in a tenuous position because of links to Ohio corruption scandal violates House rules by implying said veteran is a coward and using both his name the name of another member of service in House debate.
3. Other member of the service, who turns out to be a Republican operative, denies using decorated veteteran's name, strongly suggesting that newly-elected congressman is a liar.
4. So, what do Republican on-line operatives do? Strap on the hip boots, because you're entering a tank filled with...

That fat old fart Murtha might have served but it doesn’t make him a hero and the fact is only cowards and traitors cut and run. Oh, by the way…Kerry should be shot for a traitor for consorting with the N. Vietnamese in Paris spilling his guts and conspiring to actively subvert US operations in SE Asia.

I doubt Murtha is a coward. Unlike John F'n Kerry, he has actually "been there, done that" in significant combat, and has apparently had a long record of supporting the military.
On the other hand, I have no doubt at all that at this point he has fallen deep into error. Even warriors are not exempt from senile folly and/or political pressure.

The left had also broken the will of the American people as they try to do now in Nam. As you know, those that stood with America in Nam were pretty much abandoned and they were slaughtered.
200k troops of Iraq are trained to some level of competence, when they have the ability to make a go of handling themselves, we go. Or if we are asked to leave earlier by an Iraqi President to leave, we go sooner.
